Luggage storage in Marseille: Saint-Charles, the port and city centre
Luggage storage in Marseille is easiest to choose from your collection point, not from the cheapest pin on a map. If your next departure is at Saint-Charles, storage by the station may save a return trip across town. If you are staying around the Old Port, a nearby locker may be more practical. The cruise terminal is a separate location: an Old Port address does not put your bags beside the ship.
Checked on 27 October 2026. Addresses and opening times below describe the providers' published information, not live locker availability. Confirm the exact site, collection deadline and booking conditions for your date before paying or handing over luggage.
Choose where you need the bags back
Before filling the hours between checkout and departure, try RoadMe: in supported cities, the app develops a complete personal trip plan around your interests and pace. Following it in the app is much easier than piecing together stops while dragging a suitcase.
Start with the final obligation: train, hotel, airport journey or cruise arrangements. Storage should fit that obligation. A convenient deposit in the morning is not useful if collection requires a long detour immediately before departure.
Compare two complete walks: from your arrival point to storage, then from storage to the next transport or accommodation. A point described as near Saint-Charles may be outside the station and at another street level. That matters with heavy bags, children or limited mobility.
There are three distinct services: staffed storage, self-service lockers and storage in a partner shop or hotel booked through a platform. They do not share one reservation method, one price unit or one set of hours. Choose the operating model as well as the neighbourhood.
Current options by area
| Site | Published address | Published access | Booking distinction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bag Mobile, Saint-Charles staffed storage | 15–21 boulevard Maurice Bourdet | Daily 08:15–21:00 | Online booking recommended |
| Bag Mobile, Saint-Charles Nédelec lockers | 20 boulevard Charles-Nédelec | Daily 06:00–23:00 | On-site lockers; no online reservation |
| Bag Mobile, Vieux-Port lockers | 3 rue Coutellerie | Daily 06:00–23:00 | On-site lockers; no online reservation |
| Bag Mobile, Joliette lockers | 110 boulevard des Dames | Daily 06:00–23:00 | On-site lockers; no online reservation |
| Stow Your Bags, Old Port | 6 rue Fortia | Daily 07:00–23:00 | Check locker size and selected booking period |
| POUX SHOP, Nannybag partner | 11 rue Jean Trinquet | Daily 10:00–22:00, within confirmed slot | Nannybag reservation and payment required before deposit |
These are different addresses even when they share a district or operator. The Saint-Charles staffed service and the Nédelec lockers are not the same entrance. The fact that one stays open later does not extend the other's collection hours.
Do not interpret the table as a capacity guarantee or a ranking of security. A suitable compartment can be occupied, and a host may have no space for the requested booking. Check the final confirmation and keep the exact address available offline.
Saint-Charles: the official service is outside the station
SNCF Gares & Connexions identifies La Bag Mobile as the station's official storage service. Its location is outside the station, level 0, at 15–21 boulevard Maurice Bourdet. Do not search indefinitely among the departure platforms for an invented indoor locker room.
The station page and operator currently agree on 08:15–21:00 for the staffed site. That is the storage service's schedule, not the station's general opening time. Being able to enter the railway station later does not mean you can collect a suitcase after the counter has closed.
The station listing marks motor accessibility and staff presence. Nevertheless, check the actual approach from your arrival platform and request assistance if needed. A service marked accessible does not establish that every nearby stair-based shortcut is suitable for you.
Bag Mobile recommends online booking here; it does not describe every other site as bookable. The provider also lists card and cash payment for its staffed station service. Keep those conditions separate from an automated locker or a third-party platform payment.

Nédelec, Old Port and Joliette: self-service is another model
The operator's Nédelec, Vieux-Port and Joliette entries describe automatic lockers available on site without online reservation. An instruction to reserve a staffed counter does not secure a compartment in those locations. A map pin showing the operator's name is not a locker booking.
Self-service can be convenient when its access window fits your day, but measure your luggage before selecting a compartment. Include wheels, handles and any rigid protruding parts. Two bags called cabin bags are not automatically the same shape or easy to stack together.
Follow the local instructions for payment, opening and locking. Verify that the compartment is actually closed before leaving. Keep the access information private; a code, link or receipt may be needed for retrieval and should not appear in a public travel photo.
If you plan to return for something during the rental, check re-opening rules first. Some products treat a final opening as the end of the rental. Do not assume unlimited access or move bags to another compartment without checking how the system treats the change.
Old Port: compare the real street, not just the label
Vieux-Port is an area, not one storage counter. Bag Mobile at rue Coutellerie and Stow Your Bags at rue Fortia are separate locations. Select the street that fits your accommodation and later departure instead of assuming every Old Port result is equally convenient.
Stow Your Bags lists daily access from 07:00 to 23:00 at 6 rue Fortia. Its Marseille page describes small, standard and maxi compartments using example carry-on capacities. Those examples are not a promise that every suitcase, stroller or sports bag fits.
Use actual compartment dimensions and the selected rental period in the booking process. If a group wants to share one locker, check the total shape and volume of the bags rather than multiplying a marketing cabin-bag example. Choose a size that closes without forcing the door.
Provider opening times may differ from older tourism listings or cached search text. Use the current site-specific confirmation for your day. This guide deliberately does not turn a generic all-city opening-hours claim into a rule for every storage shop.
The cruise terminal is not the Old Port
Marseille's Old Port and the cruise terminal should not be confused. Bag Mobile lists a staffed cruise service at Porte 4, Môle Léon Gourret, with a published morning window of 08:15–11:30 and no reservation. That is not an all-day Vieux-Port locker.
Before using that service, establish exactly how collection or onward delivery works for your sailing and timing. Do not deposit a bag assuming you can return to a morning-only point late in the afternoon. Storage and delivery can be different products with different arrangements.
The operator also describes transfers of cruise passengers' luggage to Saint-Charles or the airport. Confirm destination, acceptance, timing and any charge as an actual service booking. A general mention on a homepage does not mean every deposited bag is automatically forwarded.
Joliette is another useful district name, not proof that a locker is beside your assigned cruise terminal. Check the ship's actual berth, passenger access and transfer arrangements. A plan to walk with luggage from a central map pin may not match the port's permitted access.
Partner shops: platform rules follow the reservation
At 11 rue Jean Trinquet, POUX SHOP describes a Nannybag partner service requiring online reservation and payment before deposit. Bring the booking confirmation or associated QR as instructed. Paying the host directly is not the stated Nannybag purchase route.
The host lists daily 10:00–22:00 access subject to the confirmed slot. Choose both deposit and collection within the booking and opening window. A platform operating online around the clock does not make a local partner shop open all night.
The same host advertises a separate direct-storage offer at EUR 7 per item for 24 hours, by reservation. That amount belongs to its direct offer, not automatically to Nannybag. Booking through another platform can create a different contract, price and support route at the same physical address.
For a payment, cancellation or booking change, use the seller and support channel named in the reservation. The local host may help find the door without being able to change a platform charge. Keeping those roles separate saves time when plans change.

Price units: per bag, per locker or per period
A headline from price is not enough to compare storage. Check whether it applies to one item or a whole compartment and whether the period is an hour, a day or a full 24 hours. A small locker starting price may have little relevance to a large suitcase kept until evening.
Enter your actual dates, times and number of items before comparing the final total. Look for any mandatory fee shown in checkout and the consequences of collection after the paid period. Do not assume a price advertised on a search page is the final cost for your selection.
For two small bags, one suitable locker may work differently from two separately charged items. For an unusual instrument or folded stroller, acceptance and dimensions matter more than the cheapest standard-bag label. Ask the provider before relying on a category that does not describe your object.
A refundable reservation and a non-refundable one also have different value when your arrival is uncertain. Read the selected product's change rules. The fact that another storage company allows cancellation does not transfer that permission to your booking.
What to keep with you
Pack the items needed for the hours away before handing over luggage. Keep your passport, essential medication, payment means, phone and access information with you. If the operator excludes valuables or particular contents, do not treat a general storage-protection statement as permission to leave them.
A small day bag avoids opening the suitcase again for a jacket, charger or water bottle. Check local rules before leaving food, leaking containers or unusual equipment. What a staffed site can accept may differ from an automatic compartment or a partner shop.
Retain the receipt or digital confirmation and record which pieces were deposited. If several people have similar luggage, agree who holds the collection information. A photograph of your own bag can help describe it, but it does not replace the provider's required proof.
Security cameras and advertised protection are not an unlimited compensation guarantee. Read applicable limits, exclusions and evidence requirements if cover matters to you. Do not publish access codes or full reservation screenshots in social posts.
Plan collection before planning the rest of the day
Work backwards from your train or next check-in. Include getting back to storage, locating the entrance, possible waiting and then reaching the platform or transport. A pickup time equal to your train's departure leaves no real margin.
Agree a latest return time for the group rather than relying on everyone remembering the closing hour. A shared suitcase can hold belongings needed by several people. If one person collects everything, check the provider's identification and authorisation requirements beforehand.
For an evening flight, calculate the airport transfer after collection separately. Bags stored near the waterfront are not already at Saint-Charles or the airport. The closing time of the locker and the last usable transport are two different constraints.
Our guide to late arrivals and accommodation access helps connect transport with actual check-in. Apply the same principle after checkout: finishing sightseeing is not the same as completing the journey with your luggage.
If the locker is full or access fails
If there is no suitable locker, compare another verified location before paying for a size that will not close. Staffed storage may handle a different type of item, but obtain acceptance rather than assuming that every oversized object is allowed.
For a failed opening, use the site's displayed support method or the reservation channel. Keep location, booking reference and time ready. Do not force the door or hand your private access information to someone who simply offers unsolicited help.
If the shop appears closed, check address, date and confirmed slot before concluding you are at the right entrance. Contact the actual provider promptly, especially when a transport departure is approaching. A different branch of the same company cannot necessarily release luggage stored elsewhere.

Use the free hours without turning them into a race
Once collection is fixed, our first-visit guide to Marseille can help decide what kind of city time fits your interests. Storage is a practical support, not a reason to squeeze distant activities into a short connection. Keep the last part of the day near a workable return journey.
Let RoadMe work out the complete personal plan around your interests and a comfortable pace in available destinations. Using it in the app is more convenient than rebuilding the day around scattered suggestions after the luggage is already stored.
Before leaving your bags, confirm exact address, accepted size, payment unit, real collection hours and proof of access. Saint-Charles, the Old Port, Joliette and the cruise terminal solve different transport problems. The best choice is the one that lets you collect calmly and reach your next departure.
