Atlanta CityPASS: attraction choices and when it saves money
Atlanta CityPASS can save money if the attractions you genuinely want to visit cost more separately than the complete pass price. The current programme offers one-time admission to any five of six listed attractions over nine consecutive days. It is not unlimited sightseeing, a transport card or a guarantee that every visitor saves the advertised maximum.
Information checked on 26 October 2026. The current direct price is USD 106 plus tax for adults aged 13 and over and USD 86 plus tax for children aged 3–12. Compare the final checkout total with the tickets you would actually buy for your dates. Do not buy extra sightseeing merely to make an apparent discount look larger.
Start with your interests, then test the pass
Write down which included places you would visit without a pass. Keep the list honest: a museum added only because it is included is not automatically a saving. Then check how many visits fit comfortably into your real stay, including travel, meals, opening days and the people travelling with you.
For a trip built around your interests, try RoadMe: in supported cities, the app develops a complete personal programme around your dates and pace. Using a coherent plan in the app is more convenient than buying a pass first and trying to fill the remaining days with unwanted visits.
The useful question is not whether the package contains famous attractions. It is whether its included admission matches the experiences you want, on dates you can use, at a total lower than your realistic alternatives. A short visit focused on one museum needs a different calculation from a longer family stay.
What is included: choose five from six
| Attraction | Current included admission | Check before choosing |
|---|---|---|
| Georgia Aquarium | Anytime General Admission, galleries and included dolphin and sea lion presentations | Same-day presentation reservations and the distinction from paid encounters |
| World of Coca-Cola | General admission to the self-guided exhibits, films and experiences | Whether the brand-history subject interests your group |
| Zoo Atlanta | General admission to animal habitats and the listed daytime activities | Outdoor conditions and seasonal facilities |
| Fernbank Museum of Natural History | Daytime general admission, one giant-screen film, exhibits and outdoor experiences | The actual film availability and daytime rather than separately ticketed night events |
| College Football Hall of Fame | General admission, galleries, playing field and the listed Game ON! experience | Interest in American college football |
| National Center for Civil and Human Rights | General admission to the included galleries and experiences | Opening day and time for a thoughtful visit |
The current product lets you choose any five of these six. It is not the older structure in which particular places were fixed and only the remaining visits were optional. Do not treat an outdated seller's selection table as the rules for today's direct product.
Admission is normally one visit per selected attraction. You cannot turn the five choices into repeated visits to one favourite place on different days. A venue's own same-day re-entry procedure, where offered, is a separate matter from receiving another CityPASS admission.
You do not need to finalise the five choices at the moment of purchase under the current programme. Nevertheless, make a realistic shortlist first. Leaving the formal choice open does not solve a stay too short to enjoy the places that justify the purchase.

Choose places for their actual subject
Georgia Aquarium is an indoor animal attraction with different galleries; its included presentations need a separate same-day arrangement. World of Coca-Cola is a branded visitor experience. Neither should be selected only because a list calls it essential for everyone.
Zoo Atlanta involves outdoor time and a different rhythm from an indoor museum. Seasonal facilities should not become a guaranteed feature for any travel month. Consider weather, walking and the group's energy instead of assuming that every included activity can be added without time.
Fernbank combines natural-history exhibits with outdoor experiences and a giant-screen film. It is the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, not the separate Fernbank Science Center. Its forest setting is part of the attraction's value; a hurried indoor-only stop may not reflect what you wanted from it.
The National Center for Civil and Human Rights connects US civil-rights history with wider human-rights themes. It opened in 2014 and reopened after expansion in November 2025. Old references to a continuing redevelopment closure should not be copied into a current visit plan.
The nine-day window is consecutive
The validity period includes the first day of use and continues for nine consecutive calendar days. It is not nine separate visiting days that you can spread across a longer holiday. The operator's general wording also refers to the earliest reservation, so inspect current ticket instructions if a booked experience affects activation.
For example, beginning on the 10th makes the 18th the last day of the nine-day window. This is a calendar example, not a special October offer. Do not count the start day as free and add nine more afterwards.
Unused tickets have a separate start-by limit of one year from purchase. That does not mean an activated pass remains usable for a year. Keep the purchase deadline and the shorter period after first use as two different rules.
Check actual opening days before activating. A closed day can reduce your available visits even while the pass's calendar continues. Do not assume a closure pauses the clock or that an extension is available simply because a preferred attraction did not fit your schedule.
Price: tax and age bands matter
The checked direct base prices are USD 106 plus tax for adults aged 13+ and USD 86 plus tax for children aged 3–12. These amounts are not tax-inclusive checkout promises. A reseller's displayed total or currency conversion can follow a different presentation and its own conditions.
Compare each person's real admission needs. Child age bands differ among attractions, and some younger children may enter particular places free or need their own reservation arrangements. Do not assume that one child category produces the same saving at every venue.
For a child younger than the pass's ordinary band, examine the selected attractions individually before buying. The question is the complete usable combination, not whether the adult pass seems good value. Keep required free-child tickets or reservations separate from the decision to buy a child pass.
Calculate savings using the tickets you would buy
Use this method: add the final prices of the included admission you genuinely intend to use, then subtract the complete pass price. Use your date, age, eligible discounts and comparable admission scope. If the result is positive, it describes your estimated ticket saving, not extra time or guaranteed satisfaction.
| Step | What to enter | Common mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Choose visits | Only places you want and can realistically reach | Counting all available places despite visiting fewer |
| Price separately | Actual dated or eligible standalone admission | Using the highest possible gate price for every venue |
| Match coverage | The same included experiences | Comparing a premium standalone package with basic pass admission |
| Compare totals | Tax and relevant fees on both sides | Tax-inclusive tickets against a pre-tax pass |
| Test a missed visit | Remove the least certain attraction and recalculate | Relying on a fifth visit with no time left |
The advertised maximum saving uses the operator's comparison with high published box-office prices for the relevant programme year. It does not include every discounted, promotional or date-specific alternative. It is a marketing comparison with a stated basis, not your personal refund or guaranteed discount.
Our guide to travel budgeting and easily forgotten expenses helps add parking, local transport and meals. Keep those costs visible even when admission is already paid. Savings on tickets do not make the rest of the city visit free.

Three situations worth testing
For a visitor who wants five included places and has enough time, the package is a strong candidate for an actual comparison. Price the exact five rather than assuming the maximum advertising percentage. The list still needs to suit your group, not the list's most expensive combination.
For a short stay focused on the aquarium and one other attraction, compare only those intended visits. It is possible for a pass to be attractive with fewer than five, or unattractive despite its full allowance. There is no honest universal rule that a particular number always pays for itself on every date.
For a museum-focused traveller who does not want several included subjects, standalone tickets may preserve both money and time. Do not count an unwanted visit at its full separate price as a personal saving. Free city experiences and rest can be worth more than filling an allowance.
Run a final test without the least certain attraction. If the pass only wins when every ambitious visit happens, the decision is fragile. A slightly lower apparent saving with a comfortable schedule can be more useful than a large theoretical discount that requires rushing.
Entry and aquarium presentations are different
The Atlanta-specific CityPASS help information currently says advance attraction-entry reservations are not required. Do not replace that with a generic rule copied from another CityPASS city. Still check the current instructions for each venue before visiting, because procedures can change.
Georgia Aquarium's included dolphin and sea lion presentations require same-day reservations and have limited space. The Anytime General Admission product does not automatically allocate a presentation seat. Make the appropriate arrangement on the visit day and follow the arrival instructions for the chosen presentation.
A paid preferred seat, encounter, special tour or other upgrade is not automatically included because basic admission is covered. Decide whether you want an extra, then price it separately. Do not turn an optional upgrade into a compulsory expense for using the pass.
A ticket package does not remove all queues, security checks or capacity constraints. A claim of universal priority entry would confuse purchase convenience with actual access. Leave time for the venue's current process rather than arriving with a guaranteed no-wait expectation.
Receive and use the correct ticket
Direct purchases produce an email with an individual ticket for each person. My CityPASS provides ticket access, admission instructions and planning details through its app or web version; printed tickets are also described by the provider. Keep the actual admission document available, not merely the payment receipt.
Save the tickets before leaving reliable internet. When travelling as a group, make sure the correct person can present the correct ticket. A screenshot of a promotional page or an order's bank notification is not an admission code.
Our guide to museum tickets, admission times and refunds explains the wider distinction between a paid ticket, a reservation and a usable entry. For this product, keep the Atlanta-specific conditions beside that general preparation.
Transport, parking and realistic time
Atlanta CityPASS is an attraction-admission package, not a public-transport pass. Account for travel between the selected places and back to your accommodation. Do not assume that all six locations are next to each other merely because a map uses the same city name.
Parking is not a universal CityPASS benefit. Fernbank's listed daytime admission specifically includes free parking, while other venues have their own arrangements. Check each selected attraction rather than claiming either that parking is always included or that every parking area must be paid separately.
Consider outdoor weather, a film or presentation time, food and recovery. The programme permits multiple visits in a day, but permission is not a recommendation to squeeze all five into one rushed session. The nine-day allowance is flexibility, not a required length of stay.

Refunds: unused means the complete product
The current direct refund policy offers a refund for an entirely unused eligible product within 365 days of purchase, subject to its conditions. It does not offer a proportional refund after you have visited some attractions. Resolve existing reservations according to the policy before submitting a request.
If you bought through an approved reseller, the request starts with that seller and its process. Do not assume the direct purchase policy overrides every third-party presentation. Keep the order confirmation and read the conditions before paying.
Decide before purchasing
- Shortlist only attractions you genuinely want.
- Check their opening days, included admission and any same-day presentation arrangements.
- Compare realistic standalone totals against the final pass total for each traveller.
- Fit the intended visits inside the consecutive validity window without rushing.
- Remove one uncertain visit and see whether the purchase still makes sense.
The pass can simplify one part of a trip, but it should follow your priorities. Leave room for neighbourhoods, meals, free places and rest instead of allowing paid admission to become the only measure of a worthwhile day.
Let RoadMe develop a complete personal city programme around your interests and a comfortable pace where supported. Following that plan in the app is more convenient than chasing unused admissions after buying a package that does not match your trip.
Buy Atlanta CityPASS when the places you want, their real separate prices and your available time support the decision. Choose individual tickets when they fit better. The useful saving is the one you can actually use while still enjoying the visit.
