In Montpellier, first check whether your train uses Saint-Roch or Sud de France. They are different stations. A luggage-storage search for either name may show partners in the city centre, so the page title alone does not establish a convenient drop-off or return.

Near Saint-Roch, Bagage Secure provides a confirmed option at 1 rue de Barcelone, while partner platforms list individual shops and hotels. Choose by the exact address, bag dimensions and collection time. Do not assume that a station building, online booking and the selected storage point share the same opening hours.

## Start with the train you will actually take

Read the full departure-station name on your ticket. Write down when you need to reach it, then allow for collecting the suitcase, travelling from storage and the boarding conditions of the rail operator. The remaining hours are the time available for the city.

> Try [RoadMe](https://roadme.io/?ref=roadme.io) to work out a complete personal trip around your interests and preferred pace. In the app, it is more convenient to plan the whole stay, including Montpellier's free hours before the next departure.

A point beside the morning arrival is not always the best one before departure. Compare the whole sequence: accommodation or arrival station, drop-off, free time, collection and the real onward station. Include both visits to the storage point.

Service information was checked on 28 October 2026\. It is not a reservation or a guarantee of capacity on a particular day. Confirm the actual date and items before committing to a fixed connection.

## What the current Saint-Roch station page offers

SNCF Gares & Connexions currently describes the Saint-Roch luggage service as partner storage about five minutes on foot around the station. Its dedicated page directs travellers to Bounce, with online booking and handover at the address shown in the reservation.

This is useful confirmation of a nearby partner arrangement, not proof that every listed business is inside the railway building. Use the selected point's address and actual schedule. The station page's twenty-four-hour booking display does not make every partner accessible all night.

Do not substitute the general national luggage-storage list for the station-specific instructions. Different language versions and older pages can describe different arrangements. The relevant question is where your confirmed reservation sends you and when that place accepts and returns bags.

## Why advice about lockers inside the station conflicts

OUIGO's Saint-Roch information still describes automatic lockers in the upper concourse near the Pont de Lattes entrance, with hours of 09:00–20:00\. That description differs from the current station operator's dedicated partner-storage page.

Those two published descriptions do not establish the present operating status of an internal locker bank. This guide therefore does not promise an available machine in the concourse or send you there with no alternative. Confirm with the station before relying on that specific facility.

Nor is the disagreement proof that no storage exists near Saint-Roch. Confirmed outside options remain available subject to their own conditions. Choose an actual address rather than trying to settle the question from an old guide's yes-or-no answer.

## Bagage Secure: a specific address near Saint-Roch

The Montpellier tourist office lists Bagage Secure at 1 rue de Barcelone and places it about 300 metres from Saint-Roch. The provider publishes the same street address. It is a separate facility near the station, not an instruction to search the platforms for a locker.

The tourist office and operator both publish daily access from 06:00 to 23:00\. The operator separately mentions twenty-four-hour video surveillance. Surveillance around the clock does not extend customer access beyond the stated opening time.

Plan the actual walking approach from your station exit with the suitcase. The tourist office's approximate distance is a location reference, not a guaranteed walking time for every entrance or every traveller. Allow for crossings and whatever assistance your party needs.

## Locker sizes: measure the whole suitcase

Bagage Secure publishes three formats: L at 40 × 45 × 62 cm, XL at 60 × 45 × 62 cm, and XXL at 90 × 45 × 62 cm. Compare your bag's complete outside dimensions with the chosen compartment; the category letters alone are not a universal luggage standard.

Include wheels, fixed handles and any bulging pockets. Retract the telescopic handle and measure the actual case as you will store it. An airline's cabin-bag label does not prove that the same suitcase fits a particular locker door.

The published dimension list does not explain every opening clearance or which orientation will work for your particular bag. Ask the provider if the fit is close. Do not force a suitcase into a compartment or assume that several pieces will fit just because their combined volume seems small.

For a group, compare one suitably sized compartment with separate per-bag deposits using the actual items. The useful measure is the final accepted set of bags, not the largest category name or the cheapest headline rate.

## Using the lockers and keeping access details

The provider describes identifying yourself at the terminal, choosing a size, paying by bank card and obtaining a unique code. After placing the bags, close the compartment properly and log out of the account as instructed.

Read the current on-screen instructions rather than following a guessed sequence from an illustration. Save the real access code or collection credential securely. Keep your phone, payment method and anything needed to retrieve the suitcase outside the locker.

Before leaving, establish whether reopening ends the rental or whether intermediate access is allowed. Do not assume you can repeatedly take things out without a new payment. If one member of a group will collect, confirm which credentials and identity checks apply.

## Confirm the charging period before paying

The operator's tariff page lists separate locker categories and also a different key-box service. The visible locker table does not clearly identify the rental period. Ask for the current total for your size and planned return rather than turning an isolated amount into an assumed hourly or daily rate.

Key-box prices are not suitcase-storage prices. A key service intended for accommodation access does not establish the cost or access rules of a luggage compartment. Select the correct service on the terminal and retain the confirmation.

Check what happens if you cross a charging boundary, arrive late or need a larger compartment. Compare the confirmed total with a partner for the same bags and times. Avoid a price comparison based on different rental periods or different numbers of pieces.

## Sud de France: search results may still send you downtown

Montpellier Sud de France is separate from central Saint-Roch. Its station page gives rue de la Fontaine de la Banquière as the location. Do not transfer Saint-Roch's nearby-storage description to this station merely because both names contain Montpellier.

Commercial pages headed “Sud de France luggage storage” may list partners around Rondelet, Comédie or Saint-Roch. The search destination can cover a wide area. Read the individual address and the journey from it to your actual train.

A locker inside Sud de France was not confirmed in the station service list reviewed for this guide. That limitation is not proof that no future service can exist. Until a real facility is confirmed, plan around a verified city point and the onward transfer.

Do not travel out to the station with the sole intention of finding an assumed luggage room, then discover the booking is back in the centre. Resolve the location before taking the bags there.

## The tram connection does not erase the transfer margin

Line 1 was extended to Montpellier Sud de France in October 2025\. The city describes a connection of about twenty minutes between Saint-Roch and Sud de France. Older instructions requiring a separate station shuttle should not be repeated as the only current arrangement.

That published running-time indication is not your complete luggage-to-platform time. Add the walk to the stop, waiting, any current disruption and access to the departure platform. Read the live service information for your date.

A centre-based deposit can still be practical before a train from Sud de France, but collect early enough for that full journey. Do not leave the storage point twenty minutes before departure on the assumption that the tram description includes every stage.

## Partner shops and hotels: compare the selected point

Bounce, Radical Storage, Stasher and other networks use individual businesses. The station name in a listing may describe proximity, not the premises. Save the actual entrance and check the walk, including steps or difficult crossings where they matter.

Read the day-specific hours. A partner may close earlier on Monday, pause at lunchtime or be unavailable on Sunday. A platform's twenty-four-hour support and booking service do not keep the shop open for a late collection.

Enter all bags and both times before comparing. A small-item price can differ from a suitcase rate, and compulsory protection or booking charges may affect the total. Review accepted sizes and the final checkout rather than relying on a city-level starting price.

Follow the booked provider's rules. For example, Radical's individual Montpellier partner page requires online booking and says walk-ins and cash payments are not accepted. Do not generalise a different business's counter-payment arrangement to that reservation.

## Late collection, Sunday and an overnight stay

Choose a point open when you will actually return. A late train does not extend shop hours, and buying an additional day does not automatically provide overnight access. Ask about the consequences before selecting a point that closes near your deadline.

If a visit finishes after the planned collection, change the visit or the confirmed storage arrangement. Merely extending an online reservation may not make a closed business accessible. Contact the provider before the original collection window ends.

Keep a workable alternative if the selected point cannot accept the bag. Your accommodation may hold guest luggage by agreement, but ask about price, staffing and the final collection time. A hotel amenity for staying guests does not promise public storage for everyone.

## Montpellier Airport is not a fallback locker room

The airport's own FAQ says it does not provide luggage lockers. Apply that statement to Montpellier Airport; do not repeat its broad wording as a rule for every French airport. A commercial result using the airport name may instead identify a city partner.

Baggage wrapping, airline bag drop and lost-property services have other purposes. None automatically provides a place to leave a suitcase for a city visit. In particular, a lost-property office is not a voluntary deposit counter.

For a flight, choose confirmed storage before the airport journey and allow collection time. Check when your airline accepts bags separately. Do not rely on arriving early and handing over a suitcase before the check-in desk opens.

## Prepare the day bag and understand protection

Before storage, take documents, payment method, keys, phone, essential medicine and clothing needed for the free hours. Keep the collection credential accessible. A return just for a forgotten item can consume the time you wanted to save.

Photograph the suitcase condition and retain the receipt. Read the provider's protection limits, exclusions and claim requirements. A large advertised maximum is not a guarantee of compensation for every item you choose to store.

Ask about unusual contents, equipment or access needs before paying. Do not leave prohibited items or assume every partner's acceptance policy is identical. Confirm how collection by another person works if the group will split up.

Read the full station name, confirm the real storage point and check its access hours. For a locker, verify the dimensions and charging period; for a partner, follow the booking's handover rules. A reliable collection matters more than a station name in a search result.
