From Domodedovo Airport to Moscow, compare the Aeroexpress train to Paveletsky station, an ordinary suburban train, buses to Domodedovskaya metro and a car to your address. There is no single best option for every arrival: the next departure, onward connection and luggage can change the result.

Keep three names separate from the start: the airport, the town of Domodedovo and Domodedovskaya metro station. They are different places. A cheaper ticket with a familiar name is not necessarily a ticket from the airport, and reaching the metro still leaves the journey to your accommodation.

## Choose the destination before choosing the vehicle

Save your accommodation's exact address and entrance instructions. Compare how each airport option reaches that address, including the final walk. “Moscow city centre” is too broad to decide whether Paveletsky, Verkhnie Kotly or Domodedovskaya is the most useful connection.

Use the time you can realistically leave arrivals, rather than the aircraft's scheduled landing. Collecting bags and completing applicable arrival procedures come first. Near the last useful service, prepare an alternative before buying a connection you may not reach.

> After arranging the transfer, try [RoadMe](https://roadme.io/?ref=roadme.io) to work out a personalised plan for the whole stay around your interests and pace. The app makes it more convenient to organise the experiences you want without overloading the arrival day.

Keep the address and transport details readable without depending on a new mobile connection. Confirm a payment method that works for the product you choose. A train ticket, a bus ticket and a city metro fare are not interchangeable simply because all are part of the same arrival.

## Compare the airport section and what comes after it

| Option | First destination | Published orientation | What to add |
| ------------------------- | -------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| Aeroexpress train | Paveletsky, with a Verkhnie Kotly stop | About 45 minutes to Paveletsky | Waiting and the onward city journey |
| Ordinary suburban train | Paveletsky with intermediate stops | Airport guide: about 1 hour 10 minutes | Actual departure, ticket and onward travel |
| Aeroexpress bus 1185 | Domodedovskaya metro | Operator: about 35–40 minutes, subject to traffic | Waiting, metro and final walk |
| Regulated bus 308 | Domodedovskaya metro | A separate route and tariff | Current timetable, fare and onward connection |
| Taxi or reserved transfer | The agreed address | Actual quote and road conditions | Meeting the driver and entering the property |

The times are not promises from the arrivals hall to a hotel. Add the walk to the service, the next actual departure and the last part of the journey. The quickest moving vehicle can lose its advantage if you wait longer or change awkwardly afterwards.

## Aeroexpress: where it arrives and how to find it

The operator places its airport rail terminal near exit 2 of Terminal 1\. Follow current airport signs for the railway rather than copying a gate number from an old passenger photograph. From an international arrival, allow for your actual path through the terminal complex.

Aeroexpress trains from the airport serve Paveletsky railway station and stop at Verkhnie Kotly, where a connection to the Moscow Central Circle is possible. Choose that intermediate option only if it helps your address. A stop at a transport hub does not mean the transfer or onward fare is automatically included.

The operator's approximate running time to Paveletsky is 45 minutes. Use the current timetable for the date: engineering changes can cancel or alter individual services. A general description of half-hourly operation does not establish that your preferred departure will run.

Do not decide only from the train's exterior. Different railway products can use nearby infrastructure, and photographs may show an earlier fleet or platform arrangement. Check the destination and service on the current board and the ticket you hold.

## Train fares: name the product and the sales channel

The operator's website and app list Standard at RUB 700 for one journey. Standard Advance is RUB 650 when purchased at least one day before the journey under the stated conditions. Both are Standard-class products without an allocated seat.

The published validity of these named products is 90 days from the date selected at purchase. Read the actual confirmation before changing plans: validity and refund conditions are different questions. A long validity period is not a promise of a refund or an operating train at any hour.

These are the online and app tariffs checked on 28 October 2026\. The operator directs passengers to separate information for other channels, such as desks and machines. Do not apply a headline “from” amount from the homepage to an airport journey without reading what it buys.

For two passengers aged seven or over travelling together, the published Together product is RUB 1,350 for one Standard-class journey. All passengers must pass the gates within 15 minutes of the first. This is a group total, not a per-person fare or a reserved pair of seats.

Check family conditions separately if younger children are travelling. The operator requires a document establishing age for its under-seven free-travel rule. Do not assume that a group ticket for fare-paying passengers answers every question about accompanying children.

## Airport Domodedovo, Domodedovo town and Domodedovskaya

Airport Domodedovo is the endpoint needed for the airport railway journey. Domodedovo town has its own station and separate fare products. The operator explicitly states that its Moscow–Domodedovo town tariff is not a ticket to or from the airport.

Domodedovskaya is a metro station on the Zamoskvoretskaya line, reached from the airport by road transport. It is not the railway terminal at the airport. If a plan says “metro”, identify which vehicle first takes you to that station.

Read the complete origin and destination before purchasing, especially in a search interface that shortens names. A town fare can look attractive because the word Domodedovo matches your flight, while covering the wrong section.

If someone is meeting you, agree the transport endpoint as well as the name. Meeting at the airport, at Paveletsky and at Domodedovskaya are different arrangements. A clear address prevents a mistaken journey and an unnecessary return.

## Ordinary suburban trains: compare the actual departure

The airport describes ordinary suburban trains to Paveletsky with intermediate stops and an approximate journey of 1 hour 10 minutes. They are a separate product from Aeroexpress. Compare their actual timetable and current fare instead of applying the express ticket.

An ordinary service can be worth considering when its departure and stops suit your destination. It should not be called the best value solely from an old fare in a travel article. Check the real ticket price and count the additional time against your own priorities.

The airport places suburban-ticket desks and machines on the platform. Confirm the ticket and any required activation before boarding, and retain it for the journey and exit controls. A payment receipt or screenshot of a schedule is not automatically a valid travel document.

If you need a particular intermediate stop, verify it for the selected train. Do not assume that express and ordinary trains have the same stopping pattern. A shared city endpoint does not make the products identical.

## Bus 1185: the express bus and the metro are two stages

Aeroexpress bus 1185 runs from Terminal 1, calls at Terminal 2 in the Moscow-bound direction, and continues to Domodedovskaya. The operator's Russian route and tariff pages give a 20-minute interval and about 35–40 minutes for the road journey as an orientation.

Check the actual boarding place for your terminal and departure. The service's connection with a metro station is useful, but it does not turn the bus into a direct journey to every central hotel. Add the station entrance, city fare, train and final walk.

The published online/app one-way bus fare is RUB 450\. It is a bus product for the selected date, not an Aeroexpress rail ticket. A return product exists under its own conditions; compare it only when both journeys fit your plans.

Use the operator's current information rather than an old airport translation showing a different price or interval. Keep road traffic in the calculation. A timetable's approximate arrival is not a guarantee that you will catch a particular onward metro service.

## Bus 308: a distinct regulated route

The airport also lists route 308 between the airport and Domodedovskaya, operated under regulated fares with concessions for eligible categories. That does not make it the same service as express bus 1185 or restrict the comparison to a shared route number in an old guide.

Check its current operator timetable, payment conditions and luggage rules. We do not treat an old shuttle fare or a promotional express price as its present tariff. Compare the actual service you can board, not the cheapest number found on an unrelated page.

For a late arrival, verify a real departure before depending on route 308\. Do not assume overnight operation from an undated claim that an airport bus runs around the clock. Even a bus reaching a metro station at night does not make the metro open.

## Onward city transport and the full cost

A separate Moscow metro journey using the Troika Wallet costs RUB 75 at the published fare checked for this guide. Do not assume it is included in a Standard train or express-bus ticket. Confirm any combined product by its own wording.

For a fair comparison, write the airport ticket and the next city ticket on the same side of the calculation. Include every fare-paying passenger. A group total, a per-person fare and an entire-car quote are different units.

Someone whose accommodation suits Paveletsky may prefer a different option from someone staying conveniently along the metro line from Domodedovskaya. Compare the final walk with luggage too. A small saving on the first section need not compensate for a difficult arrival.

If you already have a suitable city card or pass, check what it actually covers. Possession of a city card does not establish coverage of either airport rail product. Avoid buying overlapping tickets before checking the ones you hold.

## Luggage: evaluate the whole chain of transport

Count the bags each traveller can manage through the terminal, onto the chosen service and through the final connection. An acceptable airline allowance does not decide whether a metro change feels practical. Keep valuable items accessible and the remaining luggage secured.

Read the baggage rules of the exact operator, including unusual or oversized items. Do not transfer metro dimensions to an airport train, or assume one bus service's inclusion applies to another. If necessary, confirm the item before buying.

Keep luggage in the designated space and clear of aisles and doors. A train seat without an allocated number does not make the neighbouring seat a baggage place. With several bags, compare how the whole party will move rather than choosing only by the lowest fare.

## Night arrival: plan beyond the last airport service

Check the airport departure and the last usable onward connection as separate constraints. A flight landing before a service ends can still leave too little time for bags and walking. Use the date-specific timetable and a realistic terminal exit time.

If the practical connection has finished, compare a prearranged car or another confirmed option rather than relying on a generic claim of night transport. Agree the pickup, waiting policy and what happens if the flight is delayed. Keep the accommodation address available offline.

Our [late-night arrival guide](https://roadme.io/blog/late-night-arrival-how-to-arrange-your-transfer-and-check-in/) helps connect that decision with access to the room. Confirm the correct booked night and entry procedure. Arriving at the building's street is not the same as being able to check in.

## Taxi or transfer: check the quote and meeting instructions

A car may suit a group, bulky luggage or an awkward final public-transport connection. Compare an actual quote to the precise address and party size. There is no single trustworthy fare or guaranteed road time for every Moscow destination.

Confirm vehicle capacity, luggage space, required child arrangements and the pickup location through the booked service. Read waiting and cancellation conditions before confirming. Do not treat an unrelated verbal offer in arrivals as your existing booking.

Keep the driver and vehicle details until you meet, and resolve changes through the service. A terminal exit, an airport pickup zone and a nearby parking area are not interchangeable points. Follow the instructions for your actual order rather than a guessed map location.

## Choose two workable options before flying

Prepare a preferred journey and a fallback. For each, note the exact ticket product, next departure, city connection and final access. This is more useful than collecting every possible route without knowing which one reaches your accommodation comfortably.

Use our [independent trip planning guide](https://roadme.io/blog/how-to-plan-your-first-independent-trip-from-idea-to-departure/) for the rest of the stay. Leave the arrival day's commitments proportionate to the flight, transfer and rest you need. A timed visit should not depend on an ideal sequence of airport procedures.

Choose the train when its next departure and city connection work, a bus when Domodedovskaya is useful, and a car when the complete journey favours it. Check the product and endpoint every time: airport, town and metro station are three different decisions.
